HARRISBURG HALF MARATHON

Hey everyone,

On Sunday, Jason and Shawn ran the Harrisburg Half Marathon. That's 13.1 miles. They've been training for a while now and were excited to run the race today. The weather was perfect. The sun was out after raining for a few days and the temperature was cool. The picture above is before they started racing. The guy on the left is Shawn's friend Mike and the guy on the right is Jason's friend James.

Mike, his wife and two kids came over to our house Saturday to visit along with Jason, Kate, Josh and Ethan. The boys had fun playing Wii while Shawn played lots with Mike's girl Maya. We had a good pre-race dinner of pasta, meatballs, salad and brownie sundaes for dessert. Jason slept over so we could all drive up together.

We all wanted to run well and I am not sure if Jason had a time goal in mind. I wanted to run at least under 2 hours. Well, we all crossed the finish line together at 1 hour and 50 minutes. That's about a 8minute 30 second mile average. We were all really happy with our time. You can see our picture after the race. We all look pretty good. (Jim is training for a marathon so he finished before us.) (You can also see Uncle Shawn's bandage from a recent procedure to remove a small growth from his cheek.)

We'll be recovering for a few days but I am sure we'll be hitting the pavement soon!

Love ya,
Uncle Shawn & Uncle Ted
