Emily's spring recital coming in May. They are doing parts of Paquita (for the older dancers) and then Alice in Wonderland. The second half of the show is "The Newspaper" which is the tap, jazz, modern etc pieces. Emily is a soloist in Paquita...she gets to do her very own variation for the first time. She was one of 3 girls picked to do this. (More info on the ballet Paquita here.) In Alice in Wonderland she is thrilled to be a "dancing table" for the tea party, and a "wicket" in the game of croquet! She also dances in the Rose Garden Waltz and Lobster Dance. And then, in the second half of the show, she'll be doing a modern, jazz, and contemporary piece.
On another note, Brandon is swimming in the Jr. Maryland State Championships next weekend, March 13-15. He qualified in almost every event, but can only swim 7 events. He's swimming the 500 Free, 50 Fly, 100 Fly, 200 Fly, 100 Free, 100 IM, and 100 Breast. At his last meet he hit a major milestone...he swam his 50 Free in under 30 seconds...a 29.42. He's been working on that goal all year, and finally made it. GOOD LUCK THIS WEEKEND BRANDON!!!!!!!!
Eric, just finished the Math Olympiad in school. He got a combined total of 16 for all the tests, and scored the highest score in his entire 4th grade class! And only 2 or 3 fifth graders beat his score. Want to try a problem or two, check these out....PRACTICE #1 and PRACTICE #2.
Adam, is all signed up for sleep-away camp this summer! (River Valley Ranch) This is where Uncle Shawn went when he was a kid. Looks like there is so much more to do there. He is really excited to go, and even wanted to go for 2 weeks, by his mom wanted him to try just one week this summer. She'll miss him too much. Check out the ranch and other info here.
Adam also just made his 1st reconciliation and is getting ready for 1st communion. In swimming, he finally broke 1 minute on his 100 Free and swam a legal 100 IM (one lap of each stroke) in 2 minutes even. WAY TO GO ADAM!!
It's that time of year again!! BASEBALL IS BACK!! Eric and Adam are playing. Brandon decided not to play baseball this year and focus on swimming. Eric will be on the Indians again, and Adam is going to be a Red Sox. Lookin' for some hits this year guys!!
Sounds like all of you are very busy and having lots of fun!! Hope to see you all soon.
Love,
Uncle Shawn & Uncle Ted
