NEW DISNEY CRUISE SHIPS

The Walt Disney Company announced plans to expand its successful cruise business with the addition of two new ocean liners. Scheduled to launch in 2011 and 2012, the new 122,000-ton ships will more than double the passenger capacity for Disney Cruise Line to meet the sustained demand for Disney’s family cruise vacations.

The ships don't have names yet. What do YOU think they should name them????

FUN WITH MONEY!!

At lunch on Saturday, I was talking with Josh and told him that there is a hidden picture on the one dollar bill. People debate over what it is. In the upper right hand corner of the bill, there is a small image that is either an owl or a spider. What do YOU think it is?

There is also a website called Where's George that tracks the places money has been. Go get a dollar, go to "Where's George" and type in the green serial number. You may find out where that bill has been. Not all bills are being tracked.

Another fun thing to do is to make your own bill. Go to this page and have fun designing your own twenty dollar bill.

THESE LITTLE PIGS

Here is a new game to try called "These Little Pigs." See how high you can stack the pigs. It takes a little practice at first, but I think you will get the hang of it. Have fun!!

BUGS

Here is a fun new game called Bugs. It took me a few tries to understand the rules. Things that I learned that helped me : You can't let the bugs hit the bubble as it forms and you can move the girl as you make the bubble.

My high score after playing a few times was 2680. I bet you can beat my score!!

SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER

There is a new game show coming February 27 on Fox TV called "Are you smarther than a 5th grader?" There is not a lot of detail yet and there is not a full offical website yet, just info found here.

I will keep you all posted. Emily and Brandon will LOVE this game. Some sample questions are : What state is Mount Rushmore in? What are the colors of the rainbow? Name the five Finger Lakes. How did you do Emily and Brandon?

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!

Did you know that today is the first day of the Chinese New Year? It is the year 4704 in the Chinese calendar. Every Chinese year is named for an animal and this year is the RED PIG!!!

Here are the names of the years when each of you were born and desciptions for people born that year. They are meant to be fun, so don't take them too seriously.

Emily - Pig

NEW DESIGN & NEW MUSIC

MR. TOAD'S WILD RIDE

Hey kids. DisneyWorld has had a few rides that are no longer there. Your mom's and I saw them when we were kids but Disney took them away to make room for new rides. Where Winnie the Pooh is now used to be Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. This is a special request by Kate. We LOVED this ride.

Mr. Ted and I were so excited to hear that Disneyland still has this ride so we'll see it in March. We'll take pictures. Unfortunately, this version of the video does not have the Merrily song real clear. I'll see if I can find it for the Ipod. Enjoy the video, but remember the ending can be scary for little ones.

OK, here is another fun game to play. It's called 1 vs 100. It's on NBC Friday nights and is lots of fun. I think the show on the TV goes kinda slow, but they are making it faster this month. Try the online game and see if you can beat the "mob" to win. I always get greedy and then the mob wins.

IDENTITY

Hey guys,

Here is a cool game show I saw on TV recently. It is not on right now but will return soon. The game is called Identity. If you have not seen it, you have to guess what job or characteristic each person has to make more money. Try the online game. It's lots of fun!!! Wikipedia describes it here.

You have 2 different "life lines" at the bottom of the screen so don't forget to use them.

1. Use "Tri-Identity" and then an identity you have a question about. Your choice will be narrowed to 3 people.
2. Click "Ask the experts" and then drop an identity onto the person you have a question about. The Expert Gropu will teall you how likely it is that you are correct.
3. You get to make one "Mistaken Identity"

WEBSITE MUSIC

OK, So I think I've figured out how to put music on this blog. I am going to stick to DisneyWorld stuff so if you have a request of a favorite ride or music from the parks, let me know and I'll try and find it.

There are a few songs ready to play now. Just use your mouse and click the right and left arrow buttons to scroll up and down the song list until you see a song on the screen you want to hear. Then click on the name of the song in the view screen and listen. (Not sure why clicking the play button does not work.)

We followed college football but not the NFL this season. I am thinking we should root for the Colts since they were from Baltimore, but I am not sure.
